Christie Trent was born and raised in West Virginia and has worked in technology for 20 years as a programmer for the US Navy, Marines, Higher Education, the State of West Virginia, and more.
Christie resides in Charleston, West Virginia, with her puppy, Luna, where she works as a remote programmer from her home. When she is not developing applications, she enjoys gardening, tending to plants, and spending time outdoors.
While working as a Maid in Florida, Christie began teaching herself how to write code. She had no internet or computer but would frequent local libraries and family members’ homes to use their computers. Against all odds, Christie taught herself how to code and was developing applications for the US Navy and Marines just a few years later.
Regardless of your age, gender, or abilities, you can learn how to code, too!
